For her prowess in the application of Neuromuscular Dentistry principles to Orthodontics, in 2021 she was awarded her Masters Degree in Dental Science, with specialization in Neuromuscular Orthodontics and Cranio-Mandibular Orthopedics, making her the first Neuromuscular Orthodontist of the country.

While conventional Orthodontics or braces treatment concerns bringing crooked teeth into alignment, Neuromuscular Orthodontics focuses beyond just the visual, aesthetic issues of the teeth. It not only straightens your smile but also helps balance your bite for health and function. This specialty of dentistry aims to relax the positioning of the muscles of the upper and lower jaws, which in turn allows for optimal shaping and positioning of each jaw.

Neuromuscular orthodontics could be the best treatment for many patients suffering from TMJ pain. It translates to greater comfort for the patient, and better, long lasting results following orthodontic treatment.

In pursuing her passion for this art and science, Dr. Nafisa received a Fellowship in Clinical Facial Aesthetics (FCFA) from the Facial Aesthetic Cosmetic Enhancement Academy recognized by Arizona State University, USA, as well as Council of Cosmetology and Aesthetic Science (CCAS) Govt. of India, in 2021 and she integrates it in her practice, helping her patients achieve cosmetically and functionally enhanced facial features.
